Prof. Charles Hou:

Dr. Charles Hou was born in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in sociology from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, U.S.A., in 1984. Dr. Hou is currently serving as the President of National Taipei University, a median size university in Taiwan with a student population of around 10,000. Dr. Hou’s academic interests are juvenile delinquency and police behavior. Dr. Hou is a life member of the American Society of Criminology. He is honored as a Fulbright scholar in 1992-1993. In Taiwan, Dr. Hou is very active in criminology community. He serves as a standing member for the Minister of Justice of Taiwan concerning the problems of crime and crime prevention.
