The famous NGO, SPARC arranged a one-day conference on children rights and child abuse in FATA and KPK at Peshawar on December 22, 2011. The Governor KPK, Barrister Masud Kausar was the Chief Guest. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare, KP Government, Mrs. Sitara Ayaz, Country Director Swiss Development Agency, Mr. Andre Houber, Managing Director SPARC, Arshad Mehmood and President, Pakistan Society of Criminology, Mr. Fasihuddin (PSP) were present on the occasion, and spoke on different issues pertaining to children rights, child abuse, juvenile offences, juvenile justice, role of police, role of international community and the various government initiatives for child protection and developing juvenile justice in Pakistan. The conference had four thematic sessions. Fasihuddin Presented his Human Rightly Friendly Policing Model as compared to the traditional policing model, and highlighted the various important steps the KPK Police have taken for juvenile justice system in KP Province. Malalai Yousafzai was also present in the conference and was given an award by the Governor KPK for her voice against militancy and in favour of female education..
